The Coyotes acquired forward Christian Thomas from the Canadiens in exchange for forward Lucas Lessio on Tuesday.

Thomas has registered two assists in five games with the Canadiens this season.

Thomas was drafted by the Rangers in the second round in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The Penguins have sent Rob Scuderi to the Blackhawks in exchange for Trevor Daley. Two sources said Pittsburgh was retaining one-third of Scuderi's $3 million salary.

Both players have another year left on their respective contracts after this season, with Scuderi carrying a $3.38 million cap hit and Daley a $3.3 million cap hit, according to an ESPN.com report on Monday.
